TRS cries foul over Chiru statement!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi has taken megastar and Praja Rajyam party chief Chiranjeevi’s statement on Telangana with a pinch of salt.
TRS leaders cry foul over Chiranjeevi’s statement that he would move a resolution on Telangana in the Assembly only if his party gets absolute majority in the next elections. They say it is nothing short of blackmailing the people of Telangana. If PRP gets absolute majority in the House, where is the guarantee that it would not push the Telangana to back seat, just as the Congress did in 2004? How can any party, which represents three regions, forego the opportunity to rule the entire State?
These are the doubts being raised by the TRS leaders. Which means, Chiranjeevi will not honour the pre-poll alliances he would have with the Telangana parties. “Unless he gives a categorical assurance that he would support the Telangana State formation, there would be no clarity in his stand on Telangana and the people would not vote for him,” a TRS leader observed.
