Tarun is the son of B.Chakrapani, Actor, director, Producer and Rojaramani, Actress.

Tarun entered Tollywood as a child artist with the movie Anjali, in 1990, directed by Maniratnam and later graduated as a hero. He is now on his second innings in the film field. His latest film Sasirekha Parinayam co-starring Genelia and directed by Krishna Vamsi is now in theatres.

Tarun’s film as hero Nuvve Kavali (2000) directed by Vijayabhaskar and produced by Ramoji Rao was a big hit.
Tarun acted in a total of 17 movies as child artiste in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Oriya films.

For Malayalam movie Abhayam, directed by Santosh Sivan, Tarun got national award. This film also got nominated for Fukuoka international film festival in 1993.
