YSR’s relative joins PRP Chief Chiranjeevi Rajyam

Kadapa DCC Treasurer Iragamreddy Tirupal Reddy, a relative of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, resigned from the Congress and joined Praja Rajyam. Mr. Tirupal Reddy of Duvvur mandal, who has been at loggerheads with Congress MLA of Mydukur D.L. Ravindra Reddy, was an aspirant for Mydukur Assembly ticket. He joined Praja Rajyam in the presence of its president Chiranjeevi, general secretary Allu Aravind at Hyderabad. Mr. Tirupal Reddy made caustic remarks against Dr. Ravindra Reddy on several occasions alleging that he accorded priority to those favourably pitted towards the Telugu Desam Party. He had been campaigning by claiming that he would contest from Mydukur Assembly constituency, whether he gets Congress ticket or not. Mydukur former mandal president D. Jaganmohan and his followers in Duvvur and Khajipet also joined Praja Rajyam along with him. Mr. Tirupal Reddy said he sent his resignation letter by fax and added that he did not discuss his plans to quit Congress with any senior party leaders. He quit the party owing to pressure from party functionaries who were not invited to a meeting organised by Dr. Ravindra Reddy ay Duvvur recently. Meanwhile, a former TDP leader of Proddatur, Kovvuru Ramasubba Reddy, also joined Praja Rajyam in the presence of Mr. Chiranjeevi.
