Upendra claims Praja Rajyam victory

Veteran parliamentarian and senior leader of Praja Rajyam Party, Parvathaneni Upendra, claimed the victory of his party in the on-going elections to the State Assembly.
Upendra, who is now camping in Vijayawada to monitor the party chief, Chiranjeevi’s campaign, said that the party had emerged as strong force in the coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts, where the party would win considerable number of seats. Even in the south coastal districts of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore, he said the party would emerge as single largest party pushing the TD and Congress to the second and third place respectively.
The former Union minister tried to justify lapses in seat allocation and said that such problems would come up in a new party where they had to take several issues into consideration. “We have promised social justice and had to accommodate people from neglected castes against the dominant castes. It was a tough exercise and there might be some lapses in such a tough exercise,” Upendra said.
He further claimed that people in the State were looking towards Chiranjeevi for clean politics and they were not prepared to accept the corrupt Congress and incredible Telugu Desam.
