Earth Close Date 2012 Dec 12th,Starts New Calender

Year 2012 is just about three years away and it is sending shivers across those who believe that Dec 21st, 2012 will be the doomsday. Some are even writing off major part of their earnings to the beggars thinking they might die by 2012. Similar incidents happened during the Skylab incident in the 80s.

However some practical souls believe that this kind of act would only get all the beggars into palaces and all the rich people on to the streets after 2012.

According to astronomical sources, on this day, the Sun would be in conjunction with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator which is the equator of Milky Way and the Ecliptic which is the path of the Sun
This event along with the belief that the Maya calendar ends with Dec 21st 2012 are the reasons for many to believe that the world would come to an end on this day. The Maya used a 365 days calendar called the Haab and measured long time periods by means of a Long Count, in which one 360-day year known as a Tun consisted of 18 x 20-day months.

This correlation puts the start date of the Great Cycle on August 11th, 3114 BC and the end date as December 21st, 2012 which is 13.0.0.0.0 in the long count.

Astronomer Philip Plait said that the Maya calendar does not end with Dec 21st, 2012 and like a car odometer, it will start a new cycle again. We just hope and pray that Dec 21st, 2012 passes off as just another day and the life goes on. Many are donating big money for poor assuming that they would die by 2012..but practical minds are saying that by doing so millionaires go to roads and beggars live in palaces after 2012.
