Hyundai i20 Diesel and Automatic launched

The Hyundai i20 hatchback is now be available in a diesel version .Hyundai has launched the diesel variant of the i20 with a 1.4-liter CRDI engine. The new engine churns out 90ps at 4000rpm. 22.4 kgm of torque would be available from 1,750-2,750rpm Hyundai claims, which is almost twice the amount of torque of the exi 1.2 sting-liter Kappa engine.

Unlike the i10, the i20 diesel will be targeted at the B or B+ segment customers. The Hyundai i20 is the designated replacement for the Getz, but not in India though.

A choice of seven colors is offered on the i20 diesel – Dark Grey, Silky Beige, Berry Red, Black, Crystal White and Sparkle Blue.

For all intents and purposes, the i20 is designed for the European market, but since Hyundai is shifting production of the car from Korea to India, it seems logical to avail the car to Indian customers.
