JNTU College of Engineering, Anantapur stands aloft on a solid foundation of past glory and prestige. This college was started in the year 1946, under the post war reconstruction program and functioned at guindy campus, Madras for two years and was shifted to Anantapur in 1948. It was in the year 1958 that the college was shifted to the present permanent buildings accommodating the Administrative block, Laboratories, the Engineering Departments, Library and the Hostel blocks.

There are 389 VHS schools in the state imparting instruction in 42 disciplines. There are 1000 batches in these schools offering VHSE 10+2 level for 33,000 students. As 41 of the vocational courses are approved as ‘Designated subject trades’ under the ambit of the Apprenticeship amendment act 1986, students can attend apprenticeship training at various institutions like industrial establishments, banks,co-operatives etc and get ‘CERTIFICATE Of PROFICIENCY’ from the Board of Apprenticeship Training. (Southern Region) Chennai, under the Government of India. In order to provide vertical mobility to vocational pass-outs optional subjects are also incorporated into the curriculum. Thus this course is also equivalent to +2 and all universities of our state has approved these courses. Many other Indian Universities have also recognised the VHS courses.
Pharmacy Council of India has also approved the Paramedical courses conducted by this Department.

Story :

The Movie begins more like Titanic as an old English woman Amy Wilkinson (Amy Jackson) almost at her death bed in London, wants to come down to Chennai in search of a young man Parithi (Arya) whom she last saw on 15 August, 1947. It revolves around the 18 yr old British girl who falls in love with the washer-man in a pre-independence era. The director Vijay worked very hard for this film making in the fashion of ancient day of 1947. It will gives the shades of Lagaan and Titanic.

Amy Jackson is a heroine who is the daughter of Madrasapattinam British Governor. She comes to India at the time Indian revolution. The British Governor wants to construct the gulf course in the place of Dhobi Ghat where the Parithi (Aarya) hero resides in. He opposes this plan and one angry british men throws challenge with the parithi to play wrestling match. Amy who eventually falls in love with parithi. Whether they succed in love or not, should be seen on screen.

Kerala University Act, Act 14 of 1957, was brought into force and the University of Travancore was renamed University of Kerala.
